KZN cops want public help after 'new drug' kills 4
It’s understood at least 44 people were rushed to local hospitals after consuming an unknown substance.
JOHANNESBURG - KwaZulu-Natal police have urged members of the public to come forward with any information about a new drug believed to have claimed the lives of four people.
An inquest has been opened at the Umlazi and KwaMashu police stations.
The police's Thulani Zwane says 44 people were rushed to local hospitals after consuming an unknown substance.
"It happened from 19 March when they were at some party in KwaMashu and then they consumed this substance said to be a drug. As a result, most of them had an attack and some came to a local clinic. Others died while they were on their way to a hospital or clinic."
