CAPE TOWN - Days after police responded to an alleged vigilante attack in Table View, the circumstances around the incident remain sketchy.

A man was killed and another wounded in the incident reported along Potsdam Road on Monday.

The matter is being investigated by police.

The South African Police Service says it's investigating cases of murder and attempted murder.

No arrests have yet been made and the reason for the attack is still unclear.

One of the men died on scene while the second victim sustained serious wounds and is recovering in hospital.

In a separate incident in Khayelitsha last month, a 17-year-old boy was beaten to death by an angry mob after he was accused of robbing people in the Harare community.
