Alleged sex offender nabbed in Cape Town
The man has been on Interpol’s wanted list for more than 10 years for a string of child sex crimes.
CAPE TOWN - A United Kingdom citizen wanted for a string of child sex crimes has been arrested in Cape Town.
The man whose name is known to Eyewitness News was arrested by Interpol, with the help of local police on Friday.
He absconded from sentencing in the United Kingdom more than a decade ago.
The Welshman is being held at the Sea Point Police Station following his arrest in Green Point on Friday.
He's expected to appear in the Cape Town Magistrates Court tomorrow on sexual offence charges.
The 52-year-old has been on Interpol's wanted list for more than 10 years and a warrant for his arrest was issued.
He had been living in Green Point since arriving in South Africa a few years ago.
It's understood he's been working as a helicopter pilot at the V&A Waterfront.
