Eddie Izzard pays tribute to Madiba, runs 27 marathons
The 54-year-old has managed to raise over R30 million for the charity appeal after running for 27 days.
JOHANNESBURG - Comedian Eddie Izzard has finished his challenge in South Africa, having run a total of 27 marathons in 27 days, to pay tribute to Nelson Mandela and raise money for sport relief.
Running a total of 1,127 kilometres in temperatures of up to 42 degrees, the 54-year-old has managed to raise over R30 million for the charity appeal.
Izzard attempted the same challenge back in 2012 but was forced to stop after the fourth marathon due to health problems.
