Parliament gives Janet Love’s IEC nomination the ‘thumbs up’
The deputy speaker of the National Assembly announced 309 MPs voted in favour of the nomination.

The former anti-apartheid activist has been backed unanimously by Members of Parliament (MPs) from across all parties.
Love resigned as a member of the African National Congress's (ANC) National Executive Committee when she became a part-time commissioner on the South African Human Rights Commission in 2010.
A former director of the Legal Resources Centre, she was part of the team that helped draw up the country's Constitution.
Deputy speaker of the National Assembly Lechesa Tsenoli announced the outcome of the vote a short while ago.
"Honourable members, the results for voting are: no abstentions, no 'Nos' and 309 'Yeses'. The nomination of Ms Janet Love in accordingly agreed to."
