NPA satisfied with sentencing of George child rapist
The 51-year-old was sentenced to 37 life sentences for raping seven of his daughter's friends.
CAPE TOWN - The National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) said the 37 life sentences handed to a George father, convicted for raping his young daughter's friends, sends a very clear message that sexual offences are dealt with accordingly by the courts.
The 51-year-old was also yesterday sentenced to 10 years for the manufacturing child pornography.
He was arrested in December 2014 and convicted in January.
The NPA said the George father abused his position of authority over his young victims and also abused the trust they had in him.
It had emerged in court the 51-year-old drugged and raped seven of his young daughter's friends during sleepovers at his Thembalethu home.
It also emerged he recorded the molestation which occurred between 2012 and 2014.
His youngest victim was 10-years-old.
The NPA said society will be a better place without the child rapist.
