Khayelitsha teen murder: 2 to appear in court
Police say they arrested two people aged 21 and 26 following a breakthrough yesterday.
CAPE TOWN - Two people will appear in the Khayelitsha Magistrates Court today in connection with the rape and murder of Sinoxolo Mafevuka.
The 19-year-old's body was discovered in communal toilets in Khayelitsha two weeks ago.
Detectives made a breakthrough and arrested two people aged 21 and 26.

On Thursday, when Deputy Police Minister Maggie Sotyu visited the family, police revealed the investigation was at an advanced stage.
However, investigators were also criticised for speaking to the family for the first time that morning.
At a memorial service for Mafevuka, Khayelitsha cluster commander Johan Brand apologised to the family for the police's slow progress.
Last week, disgruntled Khayelitsha community members blamed what happened to Mafevuka on poor policing and inadequate water and sanitation services in the area.
Residents said they'd been complaining about their torrid living conditions for years but nothing changed.
They said the crime in the area is perpetuated by the filthy state of their environment.
Sotyu claimed police have given less attention to the murder of a Khayelitsha woman compared to the murder of a 16-year-old girl in Tokai forest.
