CAPE TOWN - Four men will appear in the Wynberg Magistrates Court today in connection with the murder of 16-year-old Franziska Blöchliger.

The girl was found murdered in Tokai forest on Monday.

Police arrested the three men in a Westlake community a day after the murder in the Tokai forest.

They will appear with a fourth man charged with the possession of stolen property, linked to the case.

It's understood police located the murder suspects after tracking the deceased's mobile phone.

Blöchliger was badly beaten, but results from an autopsy have yet to reveal the exact cause of death.

A Westlake community member has told Eyewitness News how the arrests in connection with the murder of the teen came about.

Anthea Seabus said three men tried to sell a mobile phone to various community members.

Eventually the phone was sold to a foreigner.

As the mobile phone was switched on, police were able to trace its signal which lead them to the buyer.

The buyer then pointed out the men who sold the phone to him.

Seabus said they're a close community.

'If anything happens in the village, we all come together and everybody knows about it. If we decide we are going to do something with criminals in Westlake, if there is a break-in or something, if we have heard anything, then we come together and we address the problem."

At the same time, police say more charges could be added to the case against three suspects.

Police are still waiting for the autopsy report.
