Water supply restored in Fourways
Johannesburg Water says supply to 11 suburbs around Fourways has been restored to most areas.
JOHANNESBURG - Johannesburg Water says supply to 11 suburbs around Fourways has been restored to most areas and the situation should be normalised by 10am.
A pipe in Chartwell burst yesterday afternoon, an occurrence Johannesburg Water says is not irregular.
The utility has also reminded residents in the city that level two water restrictions remain in place.
This means watering gardens or refilling swimming pools is not allowed during daylight hours.
Johannesburg Water spokesperson Hilgard Matthews says they will gradually reopen the valves to avoid further bursts.
"Obviously we have to recharge the system very slowly so we don't rush water and air sockets into the system. The high lying areas should have water between 9am and 10am this morning."
