23 illegal Ethiopian immigrants arrested in Zimbabwe
The Ethiopian immigrants were reportedly on their way to South Africa to look for a better life.
HARARE - Twenty-three illegal Ethiopian immigrants have been arrested in Zimbabwe on their way to South Africa.
Zimbabwe's _Newsday _paper says the migrants were found asleep in a camp outside a local army base and immediately arrested.
The 23 Ethiopians were each carrying passports last stamped in Kenya on 1 February.
They were reportedly on their way to South Africa to look for a better life.
Newsday says the group has already appeared in court in Kwekwe, after they made the mistake of napping outside a local army base.
They face deportation after they appear in court again on Wednesday.
Last December, a bus smuggling 21 Ethiopians through Zimbabwe to South Africa crashed killing two of the migrants and their driver.
