Diepsloot community thanked for helping to recover Angel Sibanda’s body
The girl’s body was found in the Jukskei River at the weekend after being swept away by a current.
JOHANNESBURG - Gauteng Social Development MEC Nandi Mayathula-Khoza has thanked the community of Diepsloot and local authorities for their tireless efforts to recover the body of Angel Sibanda.
The 6-year-old girl's body was found in the Jukskei River at the weekend after being swept away by a current during flash floods last week.
Three other children were saved when they also tried to cross what is usually a low lying stream on their way home.
Mayathula-Khoza says the support provided Sibanda's family has been a great display of ubuntu.
Mayathula-Khoza says counsellors have been visiting the girl's family to provide support.
The MEC visited the Sibanda family, while the media waited outside.
