JOHANNESBURG - Metrorail has announced its services in the Springs, Daveyton, and Dunswart area have been cancelled due to the violent intimidation of train drivers.

Last night a train was torched in Boksburg, allegedly by commuters.

The rail company says that since November last year, 67 train drivers have been attacked.

It's unclear when the service will be restored.

Metrorail's Lillian Mofokeng says, "We really appeal to commuters to work with us because we're at a point where we can just not offer the service in those areas. The situation is bad."
