JOHANNESBURG - At least 14 people have been arrested in Modimolle in Limpopo after residents took to the streets over a lack of water.

Residents went on the rampage this morning, burning an officer's house to the ground.

The mayor's house and another building were also set alight but the fires were quickly extinguished.

The police's James Finley says they will remain on high alert in the area.

"It's very tense and they are targeting policemen's houses. We have had a few confrontations with the community."
