'Walkabout in Philippi not linked to elections'
The Presidency’s Buti Manamela says his walkabouts are not talk shops for the local government elections.
CAPE TOWN - Deputy Minister in the Presidency Buti Manamela says his walkabout in the Philippi area has nothing to with the upcoming local government elections.
Manamela is this afternoon visiting various schools and youth-focused centres.

He says he's confident has visit will result in improving service delivery where it's needed.
Manamela says his walkabouts this afternoon are not "talk shops".
He says his visit is not aimed at securing votes for the African National Congress (ANC)
"It would be ridiculous to expect me to go to a primary school and campaign for votes."
Manamela says he will recommend to provincial and national government that more recreational youth centres be established.
