JOHANNESBURG - Police are searching for the mother of a week-old baby found at an illegal dumping site in Bloemfontein.
The baby was found alive last week wrapped in a duvet, with a nappy stuffed into her mouth.
The police's Ikobeng Hlubi says the baby girl been discharged from hospital and is in a place of safety.
"Police are looking for the mother of the newborn baby; the baby is fine and has been taken to a place of safety. Anyone who knows anything about the mother can contact the nearest police station."
