CAPE TOWN - Two men accused of the murder of a 10-year-old Parkwood boy are due back in the dock next month.

Enrico Harrison and Selfiro Petersen made their third appearance in the Wynberg Magistrates Court earlier today, where their case was postponed for a formal bail application.

The pair was arrested shortly after Jayden Smith was killed during gang crossfire outside his home last month.

Harrison and Petersen's relatives filled the public gallery; some of them lambasted a group of angry Parkwood residents outside court, chanting "no bail".

Community member Paul Philips explains their outrage.

"I am trying to explain to them that our fight is not against people; we have nothing against them as a family. As community leaders, we must stand for righteousness and justice. If an injustice has happened, it is our call to stand up and say 'this shouldn't be allowed in our community'."
