Joburg man wants justice for murdered family members
George Boutselis’ father, mother and grandmother were all murdered in separate incidents.
JOHANNESBURG - A Johannesburg man says he and his family want justice after three of his family members were murdered in separate incidents.
George Boutselis says his father was shot and killed in 1996 during a robbery.
Seventeen years later, his mother and grandmother were robbed and strangled to death by an employee in Bedfordview.
The man arrested for the double murder was found guilty and will be sentenced at the Palm Ridge Magistrates Court today.
Boutselis says it was a tragedy when his father was shot and killed at a shop he was working at in Kempton Park, but to also lose his mother and grandmother to crime has made the pain worse.
"You don't even know what to tell your six-year-old daughter. How do you explain to her that people do these things?"
He adds Ralph Stanly Nkala, who was found guilty of murdering his mother and grandmother after working for them, will be sentenced today.
"This is the country I was born in and I think I am being forced to leave. I don't think the politicians are taking anything seriously about crime. I think they are there just to fill their pockets."
The family is calling for Nkala to be sentenced to life in prison.
