‘We’re tired of government’s empty promises’

Kaalfontein residents say they’re tired of living in shacks without proper sanitation or running water.

JOHANNESBURG - Residents of Kaalfontein near Midrand say they have been waiting for proper housing for over 15 years and are tired of government's empty promises.

The Democratic Alliance's Johannesburg Mayoral Candidate Herman Mashaba has met with the residents over housing issues.

The opposition party has also launched its registration poster in the community.

Some residents in Kaalfontein say they're tired of living in shacks without proper sanitation or running water.

The DA's Herman Mashaba has encouraged residents to vote in the upcoming local elections if they want to see change.

Mashaba said it's unacceptable that 22 years after democracy, so many South Africans still don't have proper homes.
