JOHANNESBURG - Gauteng police are investigating a case of murder after two men were killed in what's believed to be a mob attack in Krugersdorp on the West Rand.

A group of residents from an informal settlement in Mogale City allegedly chased six men out of the community last night, toward the Main Road where they were killed.

The police's Tsekiso Mofokeng says four people remain in a critical condition in hospital after being attacked at the Krugersdorp train station last night.

"Two bodies were found with injuries and four other people were injured."

Right near the train station is the Windsor Mine where residents claim illegal miners search for gold.

While authorities say the motive for the killing will form part of their investigations, community members have told Eyewitness News they believe the murders stem from a dispute between the zama-zamas (illegal miners).
