Pikitup confirms staff are back at work
The company has asked residents experiencing delays or problems to make contact.
JOHANNESBURG - Pikitup has confirmed that while its workers are back at their posts, there is a backlog that needs to be tackled.
Managing director Amanda Nair says should residents be experiencing delays or problems they are free to contact the company.
Workers went on strike last week with some employees facing disciplinary action over alleged misconduct.
Nair says Pikitup has apologised to residents for bad service.
"By the end of the week everybody's bins should be picked up. We tried to clear the backlog on the weekend, but there are residents whose bins have not been picked up."
