Metrorail: Vandalism to blame for some delays
Delays of more than an hour were experienced on the northern and central lines in CT this morning.
CAPE TOWN - Metrorail in the Western Cape says vandalism has been one of the major the causes of almost daily train delays.
The rail agency says its services have been restored on the northern and central lines, ahead of the afternoon peak.
This comes after delays of more than an hour were experienced on these lines this morning.
Metrorail's Riana Scott said, "Until we reach a critical point of either vandals in jail, or our maintenance programme has gone sufficiently far, we don't have a hope of stopping these daily incidences. We really appeal to communities to assist us."
