JOHANNESBURG - Gauteng police have launched a manhunt for at least four suspects linked to the shooting of an Angolan journalist in Sandton.
The man and a group of colleagues arrived in South Africa on Saturday night when they were followed from OR Tambo International Airport.
Two of the suspects allegedly forced their way into the taxi the group was travelling in, with one taking the wheel while the other robbed them at gunpoint.
It's believed the ordeal only ended when the criminals spotted a police van and jumped out of the taxi.
The police's Lungelo Dlamini says the men opened fire on the tourists before fleeing.
"Nothing happened to the other ones, there's only one that was wounded and he is being treated at Sunninghill Hospital. The suspect is still at large and police have launched a manhunt for the suspects."
