Cope leaders extend condolences after EC councillor's sudden death
Monde Mtanga collapsed at the Baywest Mall while watching a soccer match at the weekend.
CAPE TOWN - The Congress of the People (Cope) says its leadership was in contact with the family of one of its councillors who died while watching a soccer match at the weekend.
Cope has extended its condolences to Nelson Mandela Bay Councillor Monde Mtanga's family.
It's understood Mtanga collapsed at the Baywest Mall on Saturday during the Orlando Pirates and Kaizer Chiefs derby.
He was reportedly at the mall with his wife shopping for school stationary.
Cope leader Mosiuoa Lekota said, "We have already conveyed our sympathies. He was a very hardworking individual and very disciplined."
