Jackson family disapproves of new British movie about Michael
Family members have spoken out about a movie in which MJ will be played by white actor Joseph Fiennes.
JOHANNESBURG -- Michael Jackson's family members have been speaking out about a movie in which the late pop star will be played by white actor Joseph Fiennes.
The movie, set to air on UK TV, is based on an urban legend in which the king of pop, Elizabeth Taylor and Marlon Brando embark on a road trip after being stranded in New York during the September 11th attacks.
Jackson's nephew TJ says there never was a road trip of the kind, which is at the centre of the movie, which Fiennes describes as a tongue-in-cheek story.
Jackson says his uncle had stayed with family in New Jersey for a week before flying home.
He has no comment on the decision to cast the Shakespeare In Love star in the role of the late singer but most of Hollywood does, questioning how a white actor can play an iconic black figure, especially given the push for greater diversity in the movie industry.
