JOHANNESBURG - A man who was first on the scene of last night's fatal shooting in Boksburg has described to Eyewitness News how he tried to help the victim, after he was shot four times.

Police are investigating the circumstances of the shooting, in the parking lot of a nightclub, which left one person dead and another seriously wounded.

Those shot have today been identified as 30-year-old Ziyaad Janoo and 28-year-old Khalil Golpi.

Police suspect the pair were ambushed by four men driving a black Subaru.

The man, who has asked to remain anonymous, says he tried talking to Janoo as he lay dying.

"The driver was not in a state to talk at all. It was 5-10 minutes later that he passed away and I put a jacket over his face."

The motive for the shooting remains unknown.
