CT court orderly nabbed with mandrax, dagga
The 31-year-old officer was on duty at the time of his arrest.
CAPE TOWN - A Mitchells Plain court orderly has been arrested on charges of corruption.
The constable was taken into custody yesterday, after his commander received information claiming he was involved in illegal activities.
He was then confronted and searched.
The police's Andre Traut says the 31-year-old officer was on duty at the time of his arrest.
"He was found in possession of four packets of crushed mandrax and two dagga cigarettes. We have reason to believe that he was smuggling the drugs for prisoners in the holding cells. He is due to make an appearance in the same court where worked as court orderly."
