JOHANNESBURG - Former Proteas player Gulam Bodi's lawyer says no criminal charges have been levelled against his client.

Cricket South Africa (CSA) announced last week that it's charged Bodi as an intermediary who had been contriving to fix domestic T20 matches last month.

Bodi is yet to respond to the charge but CSA has suspended him.

The former cricketer's lawyer, Ayoob Kaka, has confirmed that Bodi isn't facing any criminal charges at the moment as his case is still being handled by CSA.

Bodi was identified as the intermediary who had attempted to improperly influence last year's Ram Slam 2015 matches.

Kaka, says the former Protea will be called for a hearing once he's responded to the charge.

Bodi's former teammate, Thami Tsolekile, meanwhile has also been implicated in the scandal, but a charge has yet to be brought against him.
