FF Plus heads to SAHRC over alleged hate speech against Zuma
The party has complained about Zuma’s comments that stolen land in SA is the cause of poverty.
The Freedom Front Plus (FF Plus) has complained about Zuma's comments that stolen land in South Africa is the cause of poverty, inequality and unemployment.
The president was speaking during a cake-cutting ceremony to celebrate the African National Congress' (ANC) 104th birthday in Rustenburg earlier this month.
FF Plus Member of Parliament, Pieter Groenewald, said, "So the whites, according to the president and the remarks he made, is the [reason there is] poverty, unemployment and inequality. Therefore we say in terms of Section 16 of the Constitution, that is actually also hate speech."
Last year, the political party also complained about the president's claim that the country's troubles began when Jan van Riebeeck arrived in the Cape.
