CAPE TOWN - The African National Congress (ANC) Western Cape chairperson Marius Fransman says the people behind what he says are false allegations against him, will soon be revealed.

A 20-year-old woman, who Fransman apparently hired as his personal assistant, lodged a criminal complaint against him in the North West last week.

The party's Provincial Executive Committee has referred the matter to the National Integrity Commission and at a media briefing this morning and outlined the reasons for its decision.

Fransman has again denied allegations of sexual harassment against him and questions the timing they were made public.

He says the allegations were meant as an attack on his integrity as a leader and he knows who's behind it.

"That speaks to particular individuals and that will come out as time goes on. That's why the call for the police to do a thorough investigation on what actually happened here."

Fransman would however not reveal who these individuals are or whether they are within the ANC, but he says it will not be the last time they attempt an attack on his reputation.
