DA elects Herman Mashaba as mayoral candidate
The party has elected the Black Like Me hair range founder for the upcoming Local Government Elections.
JOHANNESBURG - The Democratic Alliance (DA) has elected well-known businessman Herman Mashaba as its mayoral candidate for the upcoming Local Government Elections later this year.
Party leader Mmusi Maimane made the announcement in Johannesburg this morning.
The Black Like Me hair range founder was running against Wits University Professor Rabelani Dagada.
Maimane says the party has its best chance to date to secure the City of Johannesburg.

Mashaba says he will apply the same principles that lead to his successful business, to create jobs.
He says he has what it takes to change the city.
Mashaba says his key goal is to eradicate corruption in government.
