NSRI search for man who drowned in Hartbeespoort Dam
It’s understood the 25-year-old decided to swim to the shore after a barge ran out of fuel yesterday.
JOHANNESBURG - A search is underway for the body of a Transvaal Yacht Club employee who drowned in the Hartbeespoort Dam.
The man was assigned to carry out repairs on yachts that were damaged by heavy rains over the past weekend.
It's understood the 25-year-old decided to swim to the shore after the barge he was working on ran out of fuel yesterday.
The National Sea Rescue Institute's (NSRI) Craig Lambinon said, "They started an extensive search, conducted by NRIS, in the Hartbeespoort Dam and no sign of the man was found."
