JOHANNESBURG - Embattled budget airline Skywise has now registered a case against Airports Company of South Africa (Acsa) with the Competition Commission of South Africa.

Skywise was grounded by Acsa early last month because of unpaid bills.

The airline's co-chairperson Tabassum Qadir says they stood to make in excess of R50 million last month.

"They did a prohibited practise according to the competition law. They could have given us access to the facilities which was economically viable for them. Any economist will tell you it was viable because we were paying them as we were flying."

Skywise has also initiated legal action against the parastatal.

The airline remains grounded.
