CAPE TOWN - The African National Congress's (ANC) Western Cape leadership on Tuesday met with provincial leader Marius Fransman to discuss sexual harassment charges against him.

According to reports, a 20-year old woman Fransman had hired as a personal assistant, made the claims following the ANC's birthday celebrations in the North West over the weekend.

Spokesperson, Jabu Mfusi, said sexual harassment allegations against the party's provincial leader were on the agenda of a high level meeting on Tuesday afternoon.

Fransman was expected to present his side of the story.

Mfusi said the provincial leadership would release a statement and address the matter at a briefing following the meeting.
