Driver, passengers attacked on CT’s notorious N2 Highway
The group were attacked after their car came to a standstill due to a mechanical failure.
CAPE TOWN - A notorious stretch of the N2 Highway in Cape Town has seen an attack on a motorist and four passengers after the vehicle they were travelling in broke down near Mew Way.
The attack was reported during the early hours of Sunday morning.
Patrolling City of Cape Town Metro Police officers have been lauded for coming to the aid of the four victims by scaring off their attackers on Sunday morning.
Their car came to a standstill between the R300 and Mew Way after experiencing mechanical failure.
The driver sustained several stab wounds while three of the four passengers were also wounded.
The two attackers fled in the direction of a nearby informal settlement.
The city's JP Smith says a number of measures have been implemented to make the N2 Highway safe following a spate of deadly attacks.
