JOHANNESBURG - Palesa Madiba's family says they hope police investigators will find answers soon about how she was murdered.

A funeral service was held for Madiba at the University of Johannesburg's Soweto campus at the weekend.

She disappeared more than two years ago and her remains were found in a shallow grave in Phiri last month.

The family says that while police cannot reveal the details of the investigation they are hopeful that they will see some results soon.

Family spokesperson Thabiso Tsoledi says the police update the family regularly.

"They say there is progress."

Tsoledi says the family is grateful to the community for their support

"We're quite positive as a family that the police will come up with some results and justice should be served."

Madiba went missing days before her final exams, and friends and family say they are angry that criminals robbed a sweet girl of her bright future.
