Manhunt launched for Hartbeespoort dam ATM bombers
Police say the three suspects were heavily armed and undisclosed amount of money was taken.
JOHANNESBURG - Authorities are still searching for three suspects in connection with an ATM bombing in Hartbeespoort dam.
Police say the ATM was blown up at a local shopping complex on Friday.
It's understood heavily armed suspects broke into the Sediba Plaza before pointing a firearm at a security guard who managed to escape unharmed.
The trio fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of money.
The police's Kelebogile Moleko said, "It is also alleged that three suspects loaded the machine with explosives and destroyed it. The security guard discovered that the ATM was bombed and undisclosed amount of money was taken, then immediately alerted the police."
