Unfortunately for Capetonians, there's no chance of cooler conditions, at least until Tuesday.
CAPE TOWN - The South African Weather Service says the hot weather in the Cape can now be classified as a heatwave.
Temperatures have been hovering in the mid-thirties, with some places reaching temperatures of over 40 degrees for the past few days.
Weather forecaster Carlton Fillis says there's no chance of cooler conditions, at least until Tuesday.
"A heatwave is basically a condition with persistently high temperatures that exceed the average temperature of the hottest month."
