AWB denies claims a member was found with weapons, paraphernalia
CT police launched a manhunt for an elderly suspect after an arms cache was found at their home last month.
CAPE TOWN - Right wing political organisation the AWB has rubbished claims one of its members was found with ammunition, weapons and AWB paraphernalia.
Cape Town police launched a manhunt for a 70-year-old suspect after an arms cache and an AWB flag were found at a Bothasig home last month.
Eyewitness News contacted the Afrikaner Weerstandsbeweging's head office, to confirm a report that's emerged about last month's confiscated arms cache.
It included weapons, ammunition as well as Nazi flags and paraphernalia.
It's being reported the 70-year-old suspect may have been the right hand man of former AWB leader Eugene Terre'Blanche.
The AWB reportedly has around 5,000 members and continues to recruit young South Africans via social media.
Cape Town police have declined to comment on the recent development, adding the investigation is at a sensitive stage.
