Zuma receives final Arms Deal report
Commission chair Judge Willie Seriti and Judge Thekiso Musi handed over their report to President Zuma today.
JOHANNESBURG - President Jacob Zuma has received the final report from the Commission of Inquiry, which probed the controversial multi-billion rand Arms Deal.
The four-year long inquiry investigated allegations of fraud and corruption which marred the deal.
Judge Willie Seriti, who chaired the commission, together with Judge Thekiso Musi handed over their report to President Zuma today.
The presidency's Bongani Majola says "The president received the report today in Durban - one day ahead of the deadline 31 December 2015 which, according to the terms of reference of the commission, was six months after the commission had completed its work."
Majola says Zuma will now study the report and the findings will be made public at a later stage.
Public hearings, which formed part of the commission, wrapped up in June.
