De Lille calls for motorists to obey road rules

This festive season there has been more than 100 road casualties in the Western Cape and over 700 nationally.

CAPE TOWN - City of Cape Town Mayor Patricia de Lille has joined the chorus of pleas for motorists to obey road rules as road casualties this festive season begin to soar.

This festive season there has been more than 100 road casualties in the Western Cape and over 700 nationally.

De Lille says the holiday season should be enjoyed responsibly.

"I would like to appeal to all Capetonians and our visitors to please enjoy our beaches but not to drink and drive and they shouldn't drink on the beaches. Enjoy responsibly."
