JOHANNESBURG - Johannesburg Water says supply to all northern suburbs, which were affected by a burst pipe, has now been fully restored.

The utility says it's completed work on a pipeline supplying water to Randburg and surrounding areas.

It has once again encouraged residents to use water sparingly; and says stage two restrictions are still in place in the city - this is after reservoirs near Northcliff ran dry earlier this week.

The city's Hilgard Matthews says, "Both bursts we had in Randburg and Houghton; all of those areas… the water has been restored."
