JOHANNESBURG - Acting National Police Commissioner Khomotso Phahlane, and a delegation from the police service, have visited the Menlyn mall in Pretoria in their efforts to curb crime at shopping centres in the province.

Phahlane and Gauteng police commissioner Lesetja Mothiba visited the Maponya Mall in Soweto yesterday.

Officers and trainees have been deployed to crime hotspots, especially in shopping malls around the country this festive season.

Spokesperson Vish Naidoo says they will be visiting several areas in Pretoria today.

"We are visiting areas in and around Pretoria, as well as malls, where the acting national commissioner will also be addressing police officers there."
