Tshepisong residents call off service delivery protest
Residents took to the streets yesterday protesting over power cuts over three days.
JOHANNESBURG - Protesting Tshepisong residents have called off their protest as City Power attends to their electricity problems.
Disgruntled residents of the west rand township took to the streets yesterday protesting over power cuts over three days.
Demonstrators closed off the main road and most entrances to the township.
The burning tyres and rubble used to barricade Impala Main Road were been removed as residents headed home.
Residents say they often experience power cuts without notification, saying demonstrating is their best way to be heard.
Resident Marcus Masoba says, "We do call [City Power] and they promise that they are going to fix it as soon as possible, but then nothing happens.
Police say they will remain in the area.
