City Power working to restore power following overnight storm

JOHANNESBURG - City Power says 95 percent of the areas left in the dark after last night's storm now have fully restored electricity, leaving only the Linden area disconnected.

A lightning storm in Johannesburg affected four substations and caused widespread temporary blackouts.

City Power said technicians are on site trying to resolve the problem in Linden.

Spokesperson Yumna Sheikh says, "It's a contract and the power teams are busy onsite. We expect to have power restored in the next few hours."
