JOHANNESBURG - Comedian Steve Harvey's 2015 Miss Universe gaffe will go down in pageant history as one of the worst crowning ceremonies of all-time.

The funnyman host named Miss Colombia, Ariadna Gutierrez, as Miss Universe in front of a live audience.

However, Gutierrez's celebratory walk with the crown was short-lived, as Harvey corrected himself and unveiled the true winner - Miss Philippines, Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach.

If you thought this was a beauty pageant first, think again…

2013 MISS UNIVERSE CANADA DETHRONED

2013 Miss Universe Canada contestant, Denise Garrido, felt like a queen… but only for a day.

Just 24 hours after having received her crown, her reign came to an abrupt end after organisers revealed there was a 'huge typo' when counting votes.

Garrido was, in fact, the third-place runner-up.

LAW OF THE JUNGLE?

Things turned ugly, to say the least, at the Miss Amazon 2015 contest after a disgruntled runner-up contestant ripped the crown off the winner, threw it on the floor and stormed off.

US CONTESTANT FAILS TO MAP IT OUT

Then, who can forget the Miss Teen USA 2007 South Carolina contestant who rambled her response when asked why a fifth of Americans can't point out the US on a map.

Caite Upton became an internet sensation and was mocked mercilessly for her comments on South Africa and 'the Iraq'.

Upton recently admitted that the entire debacle made her contemplate suicide.

FALL FROM GRACE

The Miss Asia Pageant North America reads a bit like a horror movie.

First, there's a weird dancer, then an MC with a nose-bleed. Nothing will prepare you for what happens next…
