JOHANNESBURG - With Christmas around the corner, South African businessman Patrice Motsepe has called on those more fortunate to give back to the poor.

Over 3,000 toys were distributed to disadvantaged children by the Motsepe Foundation in Orlando in Soweto yesterday.

Motsepe and his wife were joined by a number of local celebrities as they handed out presents.

He said they plan to distribute over 200,000 toys around the country.

"All our people are very giving and very caring and very loving people. It's part of our culture and it's part of how we grew up and we'd like to continue with that special culture of caring for those who are less fortunate."
