Katlehong murders: One suspect is a minor
Two of the victims’ cousins have been arrested and charged with murder and attempted murder.
JOHANNESBURG - It's emerged that one of the suspects arrested in connection with the Katlehong family murder is a minor.
Two sisters and a seven-month-old baby were stabbed and then drowned in a bath filled with boiling water at their home on the East Rand last week.
A fourth sister managed to escape from the attackers.
Two cousins of the victims have been arrested and have been charged with murder and attempted murder.
The police's Mega Ndobe says the two suspects will appear in court next week.
"We discovered that [the suspect] is 17-years-old and today he will be taken to court under parents or guardians. He will be informed officially that the next appearance will be next week."
Yesterday, Gauteng Community Safety MEC Sizakele Nkosi-Malobane said, "One of the sisters was actually stabbed 36 times. They even attempted to kill the owner of the house, who is a grandmother to the people who died."
