Dalindyebo’s latest bid to avoid jail time failed when the Constitutional Court dismissed his application.
CAPE TOWN - AbaThembu King Buyelekhaya Dalindyebo is expected to hand himself over to Correctional Services within two weeks.
Dalindyebo's latest bid to avoid jail time failed when the Constitutional Court dismissed his application for leave to appeal his conviction.
In 2009 the Mthatha High Court convicted and sentenced Dalindyebo to 15 years in jail for culpable homicide, arson, kidnapping and defeating the ends of justice.
Two months ago, the Supreme Court of Appeal refused to set aside the high court's decision, but overturned the culpable homicide charge and reduced his sentence to 12 years imprisonment.
