CAPE TOWN - The Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) says the African National Congress (ANC) should demonstrate that it cares about the country by recalling President Jacob Zuma after his Cabinet reshuffle fiasco.

Zuma's decision to axe Finance Minister Nhlanhla Nene sent the rand tumbling last week, amid speculation that the move related to Nene's approach to South African Airways and the country's nuclear build programme.

Nene was replaced by Member of Parliament, David Van Rooyen, who was removed four days later to make way for Pravin Gordhan.

EFF spokesperson Mbuyiseni Ndlozi says the ANC must recall President Jacob Zuma.

"The ANC deployed President Zuma to the highest office in the country. Why do they do that? They have grown arrogant. They can put such a person at the helm of South Africa, to continue making the mistakes that he has been making since day one."

United Democratic Movement leader, Bantu Holomisa, says the ANC owes the country an explanation for what's happened since Wednesday.

"Even if it means President Zuma has to be recalled, but heads must fall."

Meanwhile, the Democratic Alliance wants another motion of 'no confidence' in Zuma to be debated in Parliament next year.
