JOHANNESBURG - Eleven people have been arrested for public violence during a second day of protests.

Police say the group attacked businesses and looted shops.

It's understood the group mobilised after being evicted from the Saulsville hostel housing units yesterday, which they illegally occupied earlier this year.

Police are monitoring the area in case of a flare-up of violence.
